How many graduates successfully acquire employment?

The number of Montessori schools has doubled in the last ten years, so it is an opportune time to be a Montessori teacher in what is widely considered a ‘recession proof’ career. Montessori teachers are in greater demand today than they have ever been. However, we cannot promise graduates employment.

How long will it take to complete the program?

The program runs over one academic year.  The program starts with a five-week session in July, and then continues on one or two weekend each month until May of the following year.

How much independent study time do I need to devote to my training?

To comfortably complete the program, you will need to study at least 6 hours each week.

What if I can’t complete my assignments by the scheduled date?

It is important that students adhere to the schedules of assignment submission. However, we understand that sometimes there can be extenuation circumstances, such as situations of emergency or stress.  In these cases, we are willing to review and grant assignment extensions upon written requests.  All extension requests are considered on an individual basis.

In what language is the program delivered?

The program is delivered in English with translation into Chinese.  We also offer translations of paper work and manuals in simplified Chinese.

Is TMEC’s Diploma accredited?

MACTE is an accreditation organization that Montessori training programs can choose to belong to.  TMEC are currently applying to this organization for accreditation. However we also feel that the teacher holding the diploma is far more important than the diploma itself.

Is an internship or practicum important?

Yes, this aspect of the program is very important in TMEC.  It affords the student time spent in the classroom under an experienced teacher and also allows the theory to be put into practice.
